Technology & INNOVATION
Our modern dual fuel vessels harness innovative 3rd generation methanol powered engines. The methanol engines and propulsion systems have been improved and optimized on the back of over 40,000 engine hours and a learning curve commencing with the first methanol powered engine design in 2014. The new systems deliver significant cost savings compared to a Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) emissions control system or an Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) NOx emissions control system.
The vessels also boast several cutting-edge technologies and energy-saving design features. These include a propeller boss cap fin to enhance propeller efficiency, Speed/Fuel Pilot to keep consumption to an optimum level and frequency-controlled pumps and fans. Vessels are also fitted with a power factor compensator for the alternators, enabling substantially greater energy savings.
And that’s not all, our newly delivered Mari Innovator, with her vessel incinerator capable of evaporating bilge water instead of pumping it out to sea, will also be playing her part to protect our marine environment.

We are excited and proud to welcome the new building series to our fleet. We will continue supporting our customers in their green transition pathway and lead the industry towards a more sustainable future.
The Marinvest team that recently joined us was built on the foundations of technological innovation and engineering.
It has always been ambitious, curious and a hands-on manager who continuously delivered engineering solutions and energy saving initiatives. Among the systems and solutions developed by the Marinvest team are the Marinvest Alternative Propulsion System, Hull Performance monitoring systems, and together with MAN Energy solutions, design and supervision of the world first Methanol (MeOH) powered vessels.
